2014-15 NBA Schedule Rumors

Here are some rumors regarding the 2014-15 NBA Schedule.

- Defending champion Spurs to open season on the road in LeBron James's homecoming in Cleveland. This game would likely be the 8:00PM game on TNT. I'm not surprised Cleveland's home opener is opening the season to kick things off. I think Cleveland should open the season at home against an Eastern Conference foe (Chicago) in a 7:00PM slot on TNT on Tuesday, October 27th. On the other hand, San Antonio should have their opener at home, where they can raise their fifth championship banner, against a Western Conference foe (Oklahoma City).

LeBron's first visit in Miami in his second stint as a Cavalier will be on Christmas Day. This holiday matchup will be fascinating if this rumor is true. This game would potentially be aired on the 2:30PM or 5PM slate on ABC's Christmas Day double header. I'm speculating the other game in the ABC double header potentially will be played at Staples Center or Madison Square Garden.

- Knicks to host Wizards on Christmas Day. This potential holiday matchup is surprising. I did not expect the Wizards to be playing on Christmas Day and I thought the Knicks would be playing on the holiday at home against a marquee opponent such as the Bulls or the Lakers. It was originally reported that the Wizards would host the Knicks, but it's the other way around. This game is likely to be played at 12PM on ESPN or 8PM on TNT. Don't forget Christmas is a Thursday this year and TNT will likely to air the 8PM and 10:30PM games like they usually would on a Thursday night. I would not rule out the 2:30PM slot on ABC for this matchup if the potential Cavs-Heat Christmas matchup has the 5PM ABC slot.

- Bulls to host Lakers on Christmas Day. The Lakers won't be good team this season, but let's face the facts- their the Lakers and they will be on national TV all the time because they still have Kobe Bryant. This is an intriguing matchup because it's Kobe Bryant versus Derrick Rose and his former teammate, Pau Gasol. I'm surprised that the Lakers aren't reportedly hosting a Christmas game, but I guess the NBA decided to have the Lakers play on the road. This reported matchup is likely to get either the 2:30PM ABC slot or the 8PM TNT slot.

- Clippers to host Warriors on Christmas Day. This potential Christmas matchup is a playoff rematch that every NBA fan wants to see. Warriors-Clippers is now the NBA's best rivalry and every time these teams play is must watch TV. The Clippers and Lakers both hosted Christmas Day games on the same day in 2012, the Lakers hosted the Heat in 2013 at Staples while the Clippers were in Oakland playing the Warriors. This Christmas, the Clippers are now reportedly hosting a Christmas Day game while the Lakers are on the road. This potential matchup will likely be in the 10:30PM TNT slot or the 5PM ABC slot cannot be ruled out either.

- Games reportedly on the Heat's schedule. These are some match ups the Heat reportedly have including four games against the Cavaliers, their home opener against the Washington Wizards, a game in mid-February after the All-Star break against the New York Knicks, and an eastern conference finals rematch with the Paul George-less Pacers in the beginning of the season.

- Defending champion Spurs to host Mavericks on ring night. In this article while ESPN is reporting that the Heat will host the Cavs on Christmas Day, the last paragraph in the article reports this fascinating matchup on opening night with the defending champs hosting the new-look Dallas Mavericks.

- Chris Vernon of ESPN Memphis is reporting that the Grizzlies home opener is October 29th against the Timberwolves. Vernon also reports that the Grizzlies will host the Mavericks on Martin Luther King Day and that Memphis will host the Cleveland Cavaliers on March 25th.

- Knicks to open season hosting the Bulls. This game will likely be on national television. It could potentially be on Tuesday, October 28th at 7PM on TNT exclusively (if Spurs ring night game is in the potential 9:30PM TNT slot). The other option would be Wednesday, October 29th at 7PM or 8PM on either NBATV or ESPN non exclusive. This article also notes that the Knicks will play in London against the Milwaukee Bucks on November 12th and that they will host a game on Martin Luther King game with the opponent unknown.

- Cavaliers home opener is against the Knicks. The "I'm coming home LeBron James" game will likely be on TNT on Thursday, October 30th in the 8PM slot against the Knicks. This is fascinating obviously because it's LeBron vs Melo.

- Defending champion Spurs to host Thunder on Christmas. The Western Conference Finals rematch will be on Christmas Day, according to sources close to the situation. San Antonio deserves to be the home team, well, because they are the defending champs.

-Clippers to open season at home against Thunder. A second round playoff rematch with two Western Conference contenders is what the casual NBA fan wants to see opening week. This game is likely going to be the 10:30PM slot on TNT on Thursday, October 30th.

- Lakers to open season against the Rockets. On Tuesday, October 28th at Staples Center, the Lakers will open the season against the Houston Rockets. This game is likely the 10:30PM slot on TNT on opening night.

- Lakers to host the Clippers on Halloween night. In this article, it is noted that the Lakers are reportedly hosting the Clippers on Halloween night.

- Bulls home opener is against the Cavaliers on Halloween Night, according to Adrian Wojnarowski from Yahoo.

- Woj also reports that the Cavaliers will travel to the west coast to play the, Trail Blazers in Portland after playing the Knicks and the Bulls.

- Hardwood Paroxysm reports that on December 11th, LeBron James and the Cavaliers face Kevin Durant and the Oklahoma City Thunder.

- According to CBS, the four Martin Luther King Day games are the following: Pistons-Hawks, Mavericks-Grizzlies, Bulls-Cavs, and Lakers-Suns.

- Defending champion Spurs take on LeBron James and the Cavaliers in Cleveland on November 19th.

- Blazers and Mavericks to play each other in regular season finale on April 15th.

- Kevin Love's return to Minnesota is January 31st.
